Supporting Brampton and Area Community Foundation

The 3rd Annual WaudWare Invitational Golf Tournament took place Thursday, August 5th at Peel Village Golf Club in Brampton, Ontario. By all accounts, a great time was had by all. A total of 53 golfers played the 9 hole course and then attended the Dinner Banquet at Jake's Boathouse along with 16+ guests.

We wish to thank our Stanley Cup sponsor Mayor Susan Fennell as well as our Venzia Trophy sponsor CCV Insurance and Financial Services for their generous support. We also wish to thank our Norris Trophy sponsors for their generous support: The Art of Marketing, CIM-Solutions, Crawford, Chondon & Partners LLP, Muller Systems Corporation, Maxxim Mobility/Telus and Meri-Mac.

While, we did not raise the $10,000.00 for the BACF charity that we had set as a target, we can advise that we have at least doubled the $3,500.00 we raised last year. We feel that this is an excellent accomplishment and something we can all be proud of. The final total will be announced in late September at which time the Tax Receipts will be mailed out. Thank you to all who attended and generously supported this years Golf tournament. We will be holding the 4th annual WaudWare Invitational Golf Tournament next year at:

Peel Village Golf Club - August 4th, 2011

Prizes and awards were handed out at the start of the Dinner Banquet and included a Grand Prize of quality Travel Golf Bags awarded to the Lowest Gross foursome provided by North American Produce. The Most Honest foursome received a LCBO Gift Card courtesy of Wesley Jackson Professional Corporation. Trophies along with a Wine & Cheese basket we handed out to the Men's and Women's Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin winners as well as 3 winners of our Putting Shootout courtesy of our Calder Trophy sponsors: Myron E. Triska Professional Corporation, Protos Shipping Ltd., Streef Produce Ltd. and EM Data/UFOS.

The 'live' auction of the Ellicottville Chalet courtesy of the Strachan Family and Collex Collision raised $800.00 and the raffle of the Bar Fridge (Jake's Boathouse), Mountain Bike (Ward Funeral Home), 4 Buffalo Sabres tickets (WaudWare Inc) and Leather Office Chair (Source Office Furnishings) raised another $940.00. Several more prizes were awarded throughout this time to many of the foursomes that participated in the event. Again this year the Awards and Prizes ceremony was finished by 7:00 pm.

Though no one won the Hole-In-One prize provided by Colony Lincoln Ford the opportunity was appreciated as well as the support of each Lady Bing Trophy (Tee/Hole) sponsor: Agro Wholesale Produce Ltd., Cindy McGoldrick Professional Corporation, Del Fresco Produce Ltd., Innova Performance Solutions Inc., The Marketing Pad Inc., Bondi Produced Ltd., The Summerset Group, Canadian Fruit & Produce Company, Leonard Wholesale Ltd., TCC Office Supplies, Davis Webb LLP Lawyers, Mike & Mike's Food & Beverage Distribution, Willson International, Business Affairs Ltd and Chiovitti Banana Ltd.

I would also like to thank several individuals and companies who provided support without which this tournament would not have been as great as it was: Scott Ching of Meri-Mac was as-always immeasurably valuable with great advice and expertise, Jim Schembri of the Schembri group did a marvellous job on the Golf Shirts we all received and a fantastic job with the Hockey Jerseys, Wesley Jackson for his ever-timely advice about everything, Barbara Tait once again 'manned' the Registration booth, oversaw the Putting ShootOut and ran the Raffle with great dedication and had wonderful 'bubbly' support from Anita Sequeira, Rick Hayward of Brampton Nameplate provided the Golf Ball & Tee Holder, St. John's Ambulance gave the Medical kit, Sean Durkin of Peel Village Golf Course was ever most helpful and finally Hennie Lloyd, Wendy Marlow and Naguib Kerba again handled the photography in a quiet and professional manner.

Thank you to all Golfers and Dinner Attendees for making this such a wonderful event and we look forward to seeing you all next year.

In support of the Brampton and Area Community Foundation. The BACF is a public, non-profit, charitable organization created by and for the people of Brampton and its surrounding communities.
