You can control which items and alternate units appear on a customer’s price list, as well as on the Custom Product Order Form page of WebPICS Shopping Basket (SB). You can also disallow users from entering sales order lines for these items and/or alternate units.
Here’s how:
a) To control which items the customer can purchase, go to the Customer Prices screen (File menu, Setup, Customer Setup, Customer Prices) and make sure that there is a record for every item you want the customer to be able to purchase. Make sure these records have the “Allow sale of this item” checkbox checked. If you uncheck this, and follow step c) below, they will not be able to purchase this item.
b) To control which alternate units the customer can purchase, go to the Customer/Stock Units screen (File menu, Setup, Customer Setup, Customer/Stock Units) and make sure that there is a record for every item/unit you want the customer to be able to purchase. Further, make sure these records have the “Allow sale of this item” checkbox checked. If you uncheck this, and follow step c) below, they will not be able to purchase this item in this unit.
c) Go to the Customer screen, edit the customer, click on Pricing and check the “Limit sales to specific units” checkbox.
As a recap, by completing the 3 steps above, for the customer(s) where you checked “Limit sales to specific units”, PICS will only show the items and the units you have set up and checked “Allow sale of this item”.
Note that if/when you use the Copy Prices routine, you need to make sure you check the overwrite checkbox to replicate any changes you made in steps b and c above to the target(s) of the Copy.
