Here are the software updates we made last month:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Added Stock # and descriptions to the top of the Lot Chooser screen (in 3.0 only) so it is easier to see which item lots are being allocated for.<\/li>\n<li>Added the journal type prefix in front of Batch # on all the various screens which have batch numbers, to make it a little more clear what type you are looking at (PICS 3.0 only).<\/li>\n<li>In PICS 3.0, we have made a change to the way alternate units are handled. Here are the details &#8230; if a user is trying to allocate some inventory for a sales order line which was sold in alternate units, and there is not enough inventory, but the amount of inventory which was short was less than one alternate unit of that item, PICS will make an automatic stock adjustment for the quantity which is short. For example. Let&#8217;s say that we have an item which has 6 alternate units in a tracked unit. When we sell these one by one, PICS will take 0.17 (1\/6 rounded to 2 decimal places) out of stock. When the 5th one is sold, there will only be 0.15 left in inventory (0.17 times 5 is 0.85). Prior to this change, when the user tried to allocate the last one, PICS would stop them, because they needed 0.17 in inventory to do this, and there was only 0.15. With this new code change, PICS will now automatically add 0.02 to inventory and let this transaction go through. Here&#8217;s another example: Again, let&#8217;s say that we have an item which has 6 alternate units in a tracked unit. And let&#8217;s assume we have 0.33 tracked units in inventory. When we try to allocate two of these, PICS will want to take 0.34 (1\/6 rounded to 2 decimal places time 2) out of stock. Prior to this change, when the user tried to allocate these two, PICS would stop them, because they needed 0.34 in inventory to do this, and there was only 0.33.
