On that note, here\u2019s what we were up to last month:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continuous improvements to PICS software for fresh produce<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Added an <strong>Administration\/Multiple Instance Limit<\/strong> system control (default of 1, maximum of 3) which allows you to set the maximum number of concurrent instances of PICS 3.0. Note that if you need more than 3, you will need to get another license.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changed the <strong>GL Post<\/strong> screen such that it now shows the batch number first and the type of batch second. This means that if there are old batches (of any type) out there, they will appear at the top. We think this is a better way to use this screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changed the <strong>Thermometer bar<\/strong> process such that when a process is running which brings it up, a grey-coloured shaded box will cover the underlying screen. This box will disappear when the Thermometer goes away. The reason for this is to prevent users from clicking on the buttons of the screen underneath, which could interrupt the process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added <strong>4 new System Controls<\/strong> to allow the following 4 sets of captions\/fields to be hidden on the outbound load screen: Required date, Arrival date, Min\/Max Temp, Preparer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added arrival date and arrival time to the <strong>outbound load and bill of lading<\/strong> cursors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a new <strong>Selling &#8211; Screen Fields\/Show Ship \/ Un-Ship<\/strong> Button system control which allows you to configure whether that button appears on the Sales Order and Sales Order Shipping screens (PICS 3.0. only).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a column containing the total dollar amount for each batch in the list you get when updating <strong>sales order batches<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a new &#8220;<strong>Administration\/Copy Attachments instead of moving them<\/strong>&#8221; system control. If you set this to Y (default N), PICS will copy attachments from the folder you place them into the appropriate attachments folder, leaving the file in the original folder. This would be used if you need to do something else with the file after it has been attached to the appropriate transaction or entity in PICS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added cubic measure and cubic scale to the <strong>Stock Items<\/strong> screen. This is for setting up how much space items will take in a warehouse location. At this time, it is used to communicate this information with a trading partner via EDI, but we think there may be other uses for it as well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a new <strong>Buying\/Don&#8217;t show Thermometer when costing<\/strong> system control to allow you to hide the Thermometer windows during the costing calculations, We believe these windows should be shown, but some users have complained that they think it slows down the process. This is in PICS 3.0 only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our commitment to improving PICS Software means working every day to improve your PICS experience! Here are the enhancements we made from November \u2013 January 2025:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More PICS software enhancements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We made a major improvement to the <strong>wildcard search<\/strong> in the stock list (and it now works in any list!) in PICS 3.0. You can enter multiple groups of characters, and PICS will use all of them to find matching records. For example, typing \u201c* RED GR AL\u201d would return results like ALLISON RED GRAPES \u2014 and any other items containing those three-character groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a new <strong>Accounting\/Create Posted Deposit<\/strong> system control. If set to Y, when an AR Receipt is saved, PICS will automatically create a Deposit for that receipt and set that Deposit\u2019s status to Posted. Note that when this happens, the Deposit screen will not open. You can tell it was done because the Deposit # field on the receipt will be filled. This would be very useful if the payments you receive go into the bank individually (electronic payments is one example).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a new <strong>Accounting\/Auto-Fill Deposit Amount<\/strong> system control. If set to Y, when adding a receipt, if a customer is chosen and there is only one un-paid item for them, PICS will automatically fill the Amount field for the entire receipt and for the row in the grid with that amount, so all you need to do is put in the description and save.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changed the <strong>Description field on the AR Receipts<\/strong> screen so it can be left blank when tabbing through the screen. It is still a required field, but it will only be checked when the Receipt is saved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added Actual Arrival Date and Time fields to <strong>Sales Order Shipping<\/strong> header.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a <strong>Freight Type<\/strong> table to PICS 3.0 and the ability to specify it in the <strong>Inbound and Outbound Load<\/strong> screens. This can be used for things like FTL, LTL, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a <strong>Temperature Mode<\/strong> table to PICS 3.0 and the ability to specify it in the <strong>Inbound and Outbound Load<\/strong> screens. This can be used for things like SINGLE TEMP, MULTI TEMP, DRY, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added a <strong>status column<\/strong> beside the list of sales orders on the <strong>Stock Lots <\/strong>screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Significantly enhanced PICS 3.0s ability to automatically create <strong>GTINs<\/strong> in the stock and alternate unit records.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2022 Added a <strong>Customer, Ship To, Product table and screen<\/strong> to PICS 3.0.
