The Safe Food for Canadians Act (SFCA) became law in November 2012. Since then, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has consulted widely with industry stakeholders on an approach to consolidate the current food regulations into a single set of regulations. The CFIA continues to work toward fully bringing into force the SFCA and its regulations. Read the July 15, 2016 progress update.
