Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) Working Group Update

The Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) vision is: supply chain-wide adoption of electronic traceability. As part of this Initiative, vendors are supposed to send customers an EDI 856 Ship notice, which contains information on the pallets contained in the shipment. Many in the industry, both shippers and receivers, have indicated the desire to eventually to use the ASN versus the Hybrid Pallet Label (HPL) for all shipments.
