Is There a Wildcard Search Feature in PICS?

You bet! (Pardon the pun)

The PICS 3.0 “wildcard” search feature allows a user to search for a specific word within the contents of text in a field.

Using the following scenario, here are the steps. We want to obtain a list of all stock items that have the word ‘salad’ in their description:

• Bring up the Stock Item screen and do a List. The following screenshot comes up. As you can see, the word ‘salad’ is in the middle of the baby spinach stock items description.

• Click into the Description column.
• Type *SALAD (place an asterisk before your search word and you need to use the Shift + 8 key). The list will now look like this:

This feature works in all lists in PICS.
