A little pain = mega gain! We may be little slower than usual responding to non-urgent support calls next week (March 12-16). We are fortunate to have an Oracle NetBeans product manager flying in from Amsterdam to provide us with one on one training on the platform we are using to rewrite PICS and other WaudWare products (first announced December 15, 2011).

this is great news!NetBeans will allow us to run PICS and related programs on the new 64 bit versions of Windows. It also appears from our preliminary work that it will run natively on Apple computers. All PICS and other related WaudWare products will be rewritten in Java using the latest “best practices” for ease of maintainability.

Did you know that right now, whenever we make a change, we have to write it up to 3 times – in PICS, then again in VPICS and then again in WebPICS? We believe that we can have everything written in one program that is currently in PICS, VPICS and WebPICS. That means it will be faster, easier and far more efficient to roll out enhancements.

We welcome your feedback and invite you to become part of the beta testing team. Please email fcwaud@waudware.com.
