The Agricultural Adaptation Council recently released news on the launch of Ontario Regional Priorities Partnership Program (ON-RP3), as follows:
Ontario Genomics (OG), Agricultural Adaptation Council (AAC) and Genome Canada (GC) are pleased to announce the launch of the Ontario Regional Priorities Partnership Program (ON-RP3), a new regional program that will support proof-of-concept stage projects within Ontario’s agriculture and agri-food sector.
[Genomics is the branch of molecular biology concerned with the structure, function, evolution, and mapping of genomes.]
ON-RP3 projects will enable co-led industry-academic partnerships that will deliver genomics-derived technologies, tools and processes to address industry-identified challenges and/or opportunities. The outcomes of these projects will help position teams for successful implementation within two years or less of project completion. To ensure maximum impact, eligible research topics focus on the strategic priority areas identified in the sector strategy report, Genomics for Agriculture & Agri-Food: Ontario’s Strategic Opportunity.
Further information, including the Request for Applications and Program Guide and application documents, can be found on the OG website and the AAC website. Please note that ON-RP3 Registrations are due to OG no later than 9:00 am EST on Monday, November 12th, 2018, and will be used by OG and AAC to assess project eligibility. Those who are deemed eligible will be invited to submit their ON-RP3 Applications which will be due no later than 9:00 am EST on Thursday, January 10th, 2019.
If you are interested in applying for this competition, would like to discuss the fit of your proposed proof-of-concept project, or require further details, we encourage you to contact Erin Genge at email@example.com.
Please feel free to distribute this announcement to anyone in your network who may be interested in this opportunity (like we just did).
