Amidst all the negative news surrounding COVID-19 came this email message on March 18th from CPMA President, Ron Lemaire, thanking members of our industry for their continued efforts in ensuring fresh produce availability. Bravo!
“On behalf of CPMA, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you, our members, for your significant efforts in ensuring ongoing produce availability during these challenging times. We recognize and appreciate the important role our industry plays in the well-being of our global community by providing consumers with the freshest and safest fruits and vegetables.
CPMA values the health and safety of our members above all, and understands the state of urgency facing countless business in our sector at this time. To that end, we continue to work with government and industry partners to support our members with respect to the COVID-19 outbreak.
To help ensure our members remain healthy while continuing to operate and offer top-quality produce to consumers, CPMA has launched a COVID-19 Update page on the CPMA website. The purpose of this page is to offer our members across the produce supply chain a comprehensive, yet concise, resource which includes factual information, links to reliable sources, and up-to-date news as the situation regarding COVID-19 evolves.
- 2020 CPMA Convention and Trade Show
- Info Sheet for the Produce Sector
- Border and Trade
- Foreign Worker Entry into Canada
- Food Safety
- Protocols and Best Practices
- Resources for Canadian Businesses
- And more information to come…
As this situation is changing rapidly, I recommend everyone check back regularly to ensure your company is aware of, and prepared for, any challenges presented to our industry. We recognize that significant information is being shared throughout the industry so will not add to the volume by advising when changes are made to this page.
If you have any questions about the resources offered on this page, please contact Allan Gordon at email@example.com.
