Over the past year, many PICS software customers have asked about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it can be used with PICS data. Some businesses have even begun developing their own in-house AI and data analytics projects to gain deeper insights, as well as recommendations for their operations.
To support these initiatives, we have developed processes that copy either all PICS data or selected data to a separate server. We then assist customers in connecting their AI tools to this replicated data environment.
How WaudWare is protecting your data
We intentionally keep AI access separate from the live PICS server because we want to protect your data against disruptions caused by external applications, security threats, or unauthorized access. While this approach provides an additional layer of protection, it does mean that the data available to AI tools is not always real-time. We are currently exploring secure methods that would allow AI tools to access live PICS data while maintaining the reliability and security of the production environment.
How AI tools help business owners
The results we’ve seen so far have been impressive. AI tools can analyze PICS data and quickly generate graphs, charts, dashboards, and other visual representations of key business metrics. Users can also interact with the data conversationally—simply asking questions and receiving customized reports and insights in seconds.
We’ve also seen emerging technologies that use AI to create sales orders and other documents automatically by interpreting emails, PDFs, handwritten notes, and other forms of communication, significantly reducing manual data entry.
