The summer’s favourite event was back in full swing – this time for its 8th round – on August 6th. It was a picture and weather perfect day for the 8th Annual WaudWare Invitational Golf Tournament, in support of the Brampton and Caledon Community Foundation. This charity golf tournament is unlike any other in the area. This year’s tournament was a SOLD OUT event.
Seventy-two golfers, oodles of volunteers and generous sponsors, made their way to Peel Village Golf Club for a BBQ lunch followed by 9 holes of best ball with a shotgun start. The golf tournament is hockey themed, with many holes dedicated to NHL Clubs. The infamous Putting Challenge even includes a golf net and mini hockey stick for participants to use as a putter!
Once the festivities at Peel Village ended, the entire roster of participants made their way to Jake’s Boathouse for the annual dinner banquet. The tournament, which started out as a few friends getting out on the golf course 8 years ago, has now been able to donate over $45,000 in endowment funds for the BACCF. Next year’s WaudWare Invitational Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, August 4th 2016. Save the date!
