Last month, we continued our efforts to offer the best software solutions for the fresh produce industry, namely, Produce Inventory Control System (PICS) software and the web-based version (WebPICS). Here are the software updates and productivity improvements we made during October. How often is your software solution for inventory, accounting, and traceability upgraded? If you can’t say “all the time” you’re not using PICS by WaudWare. Here’s what we accomplished last month:
- We enhanced the Grower’s Pay (GP) system. We added 2 new system controls – one is to allow Grower’s pay and one is to allow pooling of prices if Grower’s Pay is enabled. If you turn on Grower’s Pay, then a field will appear on the Vendor screen where you can set up vendors to be included in Grower’s Pay calculations. If you turn on the control to allow pooling you can also set the vendors up for that. When you add a Purchase Order for a vendor with Grower’s Pay checked, the PO will also be flagged as a Grower’s Pay PO. These flags were necessary to make the system easier to use, and more automated. We also adjusted the Grower’s Pay Screen sort order. If GP is pooled, it is sorted by stock/vendor/lot. If the GP is not pooled it is sorted by PO, Stock and lot.
- We have added 2 new system controls which allow you to configure the system to either have current items only, or all items as the default for printing and/or sending price lists via EmFx. These system controls are under Selling – Price List Individual Current Items Only Default and Price List EmFx Current Items Only Default.
