August Updates for Produce Inventory Control System (PICS) Software.

September 8, 2015

In addition to PICS in a Box*, the WaudWare Support Team made these updates to our inventory, buying and selling, production, growing, brokerage, accounting, security and management information software, known as Produce Inventory Control System (PICS). Specifically written for the fruit and vegetable industry, PICS includes traceability functions, critical for fresh produce businesses today.

  • We have adjusted the standard Account Sales report which ships with PICS to have an additional summary on it. If all of the inventory items on the report have zero inventory, a line will print at the bottom of the report to indicate that. Otherwise, if one or more lines still have quantity in stock, then the line at the end will indicate that.
  • We have adjusted the standard Grower’s Pay Proof report which ships with PICS to show Qty Left for the item from the PO, as well as Qty Left on any items made on Work Orders from that incoming item.
  • We have enhanced the process of installing new builds of PICS. The update of additional databases is now automatic. Every database listed in the PICS.INI file of the user who installs the new build will be automatically updated to the new database level. Note that if you don’t want this feature, to disable it for your site, add the following section and key to your PICSSYS.INI file: [DATABASE] UPDATEALLDATABASES=FALSE
  • Added Alt-Keys to the GL Transaction screen to allow faster data entry … Alt-A to Add, Alt-S to Save and Alt-R to remove.
  • We changed the default in the sales for stock item and sales for stock lot inquiry from 24 months back to 12 months back. It should come up more quickly now.
  • Added a check box for “Exclude from Grower’s Pay” to the Misc Stock Items Screen.

*PICS in a Box is a pre-configured Windows 2008-32 Bit virtual server with all of our software pre-installed and ready to go. The benefits of running PICS in a Box are many. Request your demo today!
