Do businesses selling fresh fruits and vegetables slow down during the summer? Of course not. And neither does the Technical Team at WaudWare. Here are more of the continuous improvements and updates made to our Produce Inventory Control System (PICS) software.

  • To go “hand in hand” with the new Auto login feature (mentioned below), we have added security to the Log In Again menu option. From now on, if you want users to be able to Log In Again (usually done to switch to a different user id), then they will have to have the rights to do so. You might want to not give this right to a user if you want them to only ever be logged in as themselves. This would be done by setting them up as Auto login, and excluding the Log In Again screen.
  • We have added code such that PICS can be set up to automatically login using the windows user id. In order to take advantage of this, check the “Auto login” box in the security screen for the user(s) you want this to happen for. Once done, when PICS is started, the Windows User ID is looked up in the PICS user table, and if it is found and if that user is configured to Auto login, then the login screen will be bypassed.
  • Made the comments area on the repack screen larger – 254 characters now. Also, added a Notes button to the Repack screen.
  • We have added the ability to duplicate a Bill of Material.
  • We have changed the inventory count process such that the variances will be calculated as the difference between the counted qty and the qty that was on hand at the time of the generate. Previously, we used the current (live) qty on hand. This enhancement means that you can resume work in PICS immediately after generating the count file, instead of waiting till the count was completely finished.
  • Reworked all the inventory count routines such that the qty in the computer is loaded into the count file at the time of the generate, and all processes now use this instead of the live quantity. This means that you can generate and produce count sheets and then resume using the system for inventory related activities (receiving, work orders, etc.).
  • We have added code to the EmFx system such that you can send the AR Statement, SO Confirmation, AR Voucher and Price List virtually unchanged from the ones in PICS. They do need to be “up-sized” to VFP, but other than that, and the removal of any UDF() functions, they should work as is.
  • We have added a system control and code to the PO system whereby you can enforce that the receiving date on all lines of all PO’s on the same load are in the same fiscal period.
