Dynamic Software for Fresh Produce in Canada and U.S.

Produce Industry Update, by F. Charles Waud…

Canadian SFCR logoNew Canadian regulations for the fresh produce industry go into effect on January 15, 2020.

Are you ready?

Here are the top 3 things every fresh fruit and vegetable sector operation needs to know:

  1. You need to be able to track each lot of produce one level up and one level down. This means you need to have records on where you got it, and where you sold or used it (i.e. if you packed or re-packed it)
  2. In the event of a recall, you need to be able to provide the information described in point #1 above quickly
  3. PICS can help you with these 2 needs as well as other critical business performance and building functions.

Our user-friendly Produce Inventory Control System (PICS) software grows with you! Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) PICS is available for Desktops (PICS Regular), Handheld Devices/Internet (WebPICS) and Virtual Servers/Cloud (PICS in a Box). Learn more about PICS Components and WaudWare by booking your complimentary PICS consultation and demo. Here are the updates we made to PICS during December:

  • Adjusted the sort on the vendor # and alpha sort fields in the AP Payment list such that the records will now be sorted by cheque # descending within the vendor or alpha sort.
  • Changed the Original Lot button on the Stock Lots screen to “Parents” and added a “Children” button. Now you can drill down and back up via these 2 buttons. In the PICS 3.0 Stock Lot screen, we also added a Graph button, so you can produce a graph of the family tree.

We’re here to help you deal with new and changing regulations – and improve your fresh produce business. It’s achievable! Book your Produce Inventory Control System (PICS) software Consultation and Demo today – and ask about new monthly subscription pricing!
